Should I get a Weighted Blanket or Weighted Comforter?
Our weighted blankets are designed to sit on TOP of the bed, while our comforters are designed to drape over the edges, like a traditional comforter. The difference comes down to the look you prefer, the ease of use, and whether you're sharing your blanket with a partner.
Our comforters are perfect for sharing! Because of the larger size, no one has to hog the covers.
Though larger in size overall, the weighted area of our comforters is very similar to that of our weighted blankets. We center the weighted glass beads only in the area that rests on top of the bed, since that's where it rests on your body. That way, there's less weight pulling off the edge of your bed, and less excess weight overall. We include subtle white tags, sewn into the seams at the very top of the comforter, that are designed show you which side is the top and to mark where the weighted filling stops.
The additional fabric around the edges does add about 4lbs in total weight to the comforter. This means that the 15lb comforter "feels" like a 15lb blanket; but the actual weight is 19lbs. We recommend washing the comforter in a commercial machine due to its larger size.
