When our Baloo sheets finally arrived, I turned it into a whole unboxing event for my wife and I because, well... why not? I had just dedicated the last two weeks of my life researching everything there is to know about bedding materials, so she had the distinct "privilege" of listening to me hype up our incoming sheets nonstop. Since we were, in fact, only opening a box of sheets, our grand "event" lasted a total of about two minutes lol. But that was okay because my expectations were already sky-high for the sheets. And to say that I was excited to see if they actually delivered would be an understatement (I mean, I did just tell you that I turned our sheet’s arrival into an unboxing event, right? Haha)!

Anyway, I performed a 1c vinegar rinse and spin -> water-only rinse and spin -> actual delicate wash cycle using plant-based detergent, and an add-on rinse cycle. Overkill? Absolutely lol. But I wanted to get a few rinses and washes in to start the anticipatory "break-in" for the fabric as time goes on!

Anyway, we ended up using the sheet that same night and every night since then. It's hardly been a week, but I can say the linen hype is undoubtedly, 1000% the real deal!!! We've been loving the feel and thermoregulation of the sheet with our new wool comforters! It’s even more impressive because my wife and I are both really sensitive to temperature when we sleep and, even with the wool comforters, we found ourselves still periodically getting too hot or too cold…

After hearing me complain about my sheets, a friend of mine lent me her Baloo sheets for a week. I had always thought that linen would be scratchy, so I was very surprised by how soft and comfortable they are.

Just as impressive is how well they fit my ridiculously high pillow top mattress, even higher now that I recently added another topper to help alleviate back and hip pain. I literally use a step stool to climb into bed, just like in the story of The Princess and the Pea. Added together, my mattress is 16 inches high. Even though my old fitted sheet had deep enough side pockets, it would slip off my mattress nightly. Fortunately, I don’t have that problem anymore. I attribute that to Baloo’s deep pockets, as well as superior elastic.

I’ve always been a hot sleeper, but with linen I no longer wake up sweating. I don’t toss and turn like I did before, even with a bad back and a scheduled hip replacement. I sleep better than I have in a long time.

My hip replacement is in 10 days, and doctor’s orders are to change sheets every few days during recovery. My sweet husband, who also sleeps better on our Baloo sheets, surprised me by buying a second set, so we’ll never have to sleep without them!

The set is nice but I am taking off a star for the company's lack of information up front. Nowhere in the list of details do you disclose where the Linen sheets are made. It was only after buying the set and inspecting it that the tags say they are "Made in China". This is not an automatic indicator of poor quality but why not be up front and list where they are made in the item description? This set is also the only way to get your linen sheets in twin extra long since the split king comes with two twin xl fitted sheets. It would be nice if you offered the twin xl fitted sheets by themselves. For my needs this turns out to be a very expensive purchase.
