    Skip the dry cleaners completely—just drop the blanket in your washing machine on a cold cycle with gentle detergent, and tumble dry on medium or low heat. King size blankets should be washed in a commercial machine due to their size.

    Not for anyone with osteoarthritis

    I bought the 12.5 pound throw and hoped it would help my sleep. After putting it over me for two minutes, my legs and arms were in pain and numb. I went online and learned that these weighted blankets cause pain and numbness in those with osteoarthritis. These symptoms lasted 2 weeks until I had a massage therapist work on my arms and legs for an hour. Be warned!
