Striving for Positive Impact
The more we can do to make the world a better place for everyone, the happier we'll be. To that end, we support these initiatives, and more:
WE ARE CARBON-NEUTRAL
We invest in projects to offset our carbon footprint through the Carbonfund.org Foundation. Project portfolios are third-party certified, world class initiatives focused on reforestation, education, carbon credits, and more.
Pajama Program is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports a comforting bedtime routine for children to help them thrive. Since 2001, Pajama Program has provided over 6 million cozy pajamas and inspiring storybooks to children nationwide who are experiencing challenges beyond their control, as well as critical resources for caregivers to support children at bedtime. Through their network of 4,000 Community Partners, 60+ volunteer Chapter Presidents, and Reading Centers in New York and Atlanta, Pajama Program’s goal is to create “good nights for good days” for all children, everywhere.
Baloo Living is proud to support Pajama Program. Every time we receive a review or tag on social media (@balooliving) we contribute $5 to provide new pajamas and books for children.
Our products are certified vegan through the Vegan Awareness Foundation.
To attain Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, the fabric has been tested and certified to be free from more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health. The certification is voluntary, must be updated annually, and is conducted by independent third party laboratories. Oeko-Tex is a global standard measured the same way across all countries.
PLASTIC FREE PACKAGING
Baloo is currently phasing out all plastic in packaging, replacing it with reusable cotton dust bags. The new packaging will become available in mid-November.
SUPPORTING FAIR AND ETHICAL BUSINESS
We are members of the NYC Fair Trade Coalition (NYFTC) and the Ethical Brand Directory. These grassroots organizations exist to support fair trade and sustainability throughout the fashion industries in the US and the UK.
